yomuncho!

“Yomuncho!” is a picture book-poncho designed for disaster preparedness, based on the idea of “protecting both body and mind.” As a picture book, it helps children to learn about disaster preparedness and build emotional readiness without fear. As a poncho, it provides physical protection through warmth and waterproofing. By wearing the same item as the story’s protagonist, children are encouraged to see disaster preparedness as something personal and relevant to their own lives. Outside of emergencies, it naturally fits into everyday life as a playful learning tool. In emergency situations, it functions as cold-weather and waterproof gear, and at evacuation sites, it can also be used as a cushion. “Yomuncho!” gently bridges the gap between everyday life and emergencies.
