Play equipment that can be adapted to fit the limited space in the many small parks found in cities.
Small parks are difficult to build new playground equipment as it is difficult to meet safety standards, and many of them are located on long, narrow, irregularly shaped land surrounded by buildings and residential areas. This study focuses on these environmental constraints and proposes "HEMEL," a flexible playground equipment that can be reshaped to fit the shape of the site. By changing the combination and arrangement of HEMEL, it creates a variety of forms and ways of playing, expanding play even in limited spaces. We aim to be the first step towards realizing a future where children can play in any park, regardless of the environment.
